About TransMedics
TransMedics is transforming organ transplantation through the Organ Care System (OCS). Our Finance team plays a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making, operational planning, and financial performance across the organization.
Position Summary
The FP&A Intern will support Financial Planning & Analysis activities including month-end reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, and long-range planning (LRP). This role provides hands-on exposure to corporate finance within a fast-paced, publicly traded medical device company.
This internship is ideal for students interested in corporate finance, strategic planning, or business analytics.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Assist with month-end reporting across all areas of the P&L
Analyze actual results versus plan and identify key variances
Support preparation of financial summaries and management reports
Forecasting & Long-Range Planning
Assist with quarterly forecast processes
Support Long-Range Plan (LRP) modeling and scenario analysis
Help gather and validate financial inputs from cross-functional teams
Headcount & Operational Reporting
Support headcount reporting and workforce analysis
Assist with ad-hoc reporting requests from Finance leadership
Systems & Process Support
Assist with testing system enhancements and reporting improvements
Support data validation and process documentation efforts
What You’ll Learn
Corporate FP&A processes in a public company environment
Financial modeling and variance analysis techniques
Forecasting and strategic planning fundamentals
Cross-functional business partnership between Finance and Operations
How financial data supports executive-level decision-making
Qualifications
Pursuing a BS in Business, preferably with a concentration in Finance
College Junior or Senior
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas required)
Power BI experience a plus
Understanding of P&L and Balance Sheet fundamentals
Exposure to financial reporting and variance analysis preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail and organizational skills
