Our Client, a Global Finanical Services Firm, is seeking a Financial Planning Consultant in their New York, NY location.
Project Overview
This position supports a large-scale risk-based capital and risk transformation initiative within the organization. The consultant will work across multiple business lines to ensure accurate project cost tracking, standardized reporting, and financial transparency. The role requires someone who is assertive, highly organized, and comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels to obtain information and maintain deadlines.
Role Expectations

Act as a strong, confident partner who can follow up, escalate, and hold teams accountable.

Engage heavily with business-side stakeholders to gather data and drive deliverables.

Assist with month-end reporting and ensure alignment with the general ledger.

Apply solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

Bring Financial Services experience (highly preferred).
Key Responsibilities

Track and monitor project costs, including compensation and non-compensation spend, across multiple initiatives.

Develop and implement standardized processes for accurate cost reporting and forecasting.

Partner with FP&A teams, project leads, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent reporting and financial compliance.

Report and analyze cost efficiencies (comp vs non-comp).

Prepare monthly financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses for senior management.

Support broader risk transformation efforts by providing structured financial insights.
Required Qualifications

Strong background in FP&A, financial reporting, and cost analysis.

Deep understanding of cost structures, expense life cycles, and allocation methodologies.

Hands-on experience implementing or enhancing cost-tracking processes.

Advanced Excel skills required (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, formulas).

Hyperion experience strongly preferred.

Familiarity with general ledger systems and month-end close processes.

Ability to work assertively, independently, and cross-functionally.
