Financial Reporting & Systems Analyst

The Financial Systems & Reporting Analyst position, bridges finance and IT, specializing in designing, maintaining, and enhancing financial software to ensure accurate reporting. This position will analyze data, develop financial statements, reporting, troubleshoot system issues, and improve efficiency for the accounting team. The role requires strong Excel skills, a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, and experience with financial systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management Reporting: This role is for a polished individual who interfaces with Firm leadership on a routine basis.
  • Rate and Profitability Analysis: Conduct profitability analysis with management and group leaders to determine proper rate structure for clients and practice groups.
  • Reporting: Maintain standard reporting for annual audits and management reporting along with ad-hoc reporting needs that arise from management, users and other department requests.
  • Data Integrity: Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the firm’s data by monitoring, validating, and cleaning data within the systems. Validate data during import/export processes and generating reports on data health.
  • Troubleshooting & Support: Conduct system testing to identify issues in software applications. This includes debugging issues reported by users and tweaking system configurations to align with business needs more effectively. Work with IT and business units to troubleshoot data issues and improve data management procedures
  • Software Upgrade Management: Manage the process of implementing changes in financial software systems, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. This involves scheduling updates, training users on new features, and monitoring system performance post-implementation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Proficiency in SQL and knowledge of database structures are essential for extracting, manipulating, and analyzing data from databases. and system design/database structure methodologies. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel) with an understanding for advanced Excel formulas
  • Strong ability to analyze complex data, think critically, and solve problems.. Ability to respond to requests requiring analysis of reporting and other basic financial analyses.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate in person, by e-mail and telephone to firm leaders, practice group leaders, system users, and other departments.
  • Experience working with Elite 3E or similar legal software is a plus.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Bachelor’s degree finance, accounting is preferred.
