Habitat for Humanity of Jackson is seeking an experienced Financial Specialist to help steward the financial integrity of a growing nonprofit organization serving families across West Tennessee.
This role is ideal for an experienced accounting or bookkeeping professional who values meaningful work, organizational stability, and flexibility while continuing to use their expertise in a trusted leadership environment.

Position Overview
The Financial Specialist works directly alongside executive leadership to maintain accurate financial systems, support audit readiness, and ensure strong financial stewardship across the affiliate.
This is a highly trusted role supporting leadership decision-making and long-term organizational sustainability.
Primary Responsibilities
● Maintain accounting records using QuickBooks.
● Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations independently.
● Prepare schedules and documentation for annual audits and financial reviews.
● Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
● Assist with grant tracking and restricted fund documentation.
● Maintain organized digital and physical financial records.
● Assist with financial reporting and budget monitoring.
● Coordinate with external auditors, accountants, and banking partners.
● Support internal controls and financial policy adherence.
Required Qualifications
● Strong proficiency in QuickBooks required.
● Experience completing monthly reconciliations independently.
● Experience supporting audit preparation or financial reviews.
● High attention to detail and organizational skills.
● Professional discretion and ability to manage confidential information.
Preferred Experience
● Nonprofit or grant-funded accounting experience.
● Banking, CPA firm, or senior bookkeeping background.
● Experience working independently or in small organizational environments.
