Finance Systems Analyst 1 - Analytics

Description:

This role is for Financial Systems Analyst 1 in the Regulatory Reporting Analytics automation program. This individual will be responsible for support and maintenance of Finance data to deliver the end-to-end automation of drill down and other analytical requirements for our regulatory reporting platform. This role focuses on working closely with the Finance Business owners and Tech partners to develop and support the Regulatory Reporting data analytics and governance processes using analytical mindset and knowledge of analytical tools .

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Translate business risks, controls and supporting data into analytic requirements and partners with colleagues to build effective analytics and insights.
  • Develop and build data visualization dashboards and other analytical capabilities for the end users. This includes building scorecards, dashboards, analytical queries used for attestation, validation, and analysis of the base data as well as the regulatory reports, using the tools such as OBIEE/OAS & Tableau.
  • Perform testing and validation of the technology builds to ensure seamless business process transition and create relevant documentation.

· Data sourcing gap analysis and profiling of attributes and complete source to target mapping document for regulatory reports automation

· Apply proven/ advanced data algorithms, advanced analytic and modeling techniques to draw insights essential to driving improvement initiatives.

· Prototype and simulate use cases for Advanced analytics, ongoing & proactive assessment of analytic results in partnership with relevant teams, leveraging data to tell compelling business stories, with a keen focus on impact & insights.

· Extensively support to other team members with Subject matter expertise and process knowledge to help make insights extremely relevant and actionable for our business partners.

· Data sourcing gap analysis and profiling of attributes and complete source to target mapping document for regulatory reports automation.

Qualification and skills

  • Master’s degree in Analytics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer science, Engineering, or other related fields with at least 5+ years of experience in the data and analytics
  • Technical experience with analytic coding techniques, visualization tools and creating reporting dashboards.
  • Hands on knowledge of SQL/ Hive QL, Visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI
  • Good to have experience with advanced analytic methods, such as machine learning.
  • Understanding and experience with Regulatory reports like FR-Y9C/9LP, FR-2314/Y11, FR-Y14s would be a plus.
  • Self-starter along with passion for continuous Innovation with a view to drive organizational improvements & impacts.
  • Excellent storytelling and visualization skills
  • Extensive business process experience in the financial services industry, including an understanding of related products, services, features, and key regulations.
  • Aptitude for working with data, interpreting results, business intelligence and analytic best practices.
  • Ability to break down a complex problem into components, solve them using data analysis, process knowledge and risk/control knowledge, and communicate data analysis, issues and control recommendations with transparency and integrity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills that deliver quality, actionable and beneficial feedback to management on potential control issues and solutions to close gaps.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to communicate highly complex concepts and processes in simple terms and pragmatically.
  • A self-starter, proactive team player with excellent relationship building and collaboration skills, facilitating a network of strong relationships across the organization.
