The Idaho Transportation Department is hiring a Financial Technician Senior to join our Financial Services Revenue Operations team located in Headquarters Boise, ID . The primary purpose of this position is to review, complete and process accounts receivable reconciliations ensuring compliance with Federal and State laws while following imposed deadlines.

NOTE: A criminal background check is required. This position is required to work onsite at the Boise Headquarters office and is not eligible for remote work.

Example of Duties

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide customer service to ITD partners, both internal and external
  • Reconcile and process financial documents and transactions in multiple ITD systems
  • Use spreadsheets & reports to reconcile multiple revenue accounts
  • Reconcile and post third-party distributions and reimbursements
  • Create, track & follow up on invoices in ITD’s accounting system
  • Process incoming funds from the State Treasurer’s Office
  • Process checks using check scanner & complete online deposits
  • Support and process transactions for out-of-office staff members
YEARLY/MULTIPLE TIMES A YEAR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Cross train to support team
  • District/HQ training
  • New fiscal year setup tasks

Minimum Qualifications

Some knowledge of:

  • Accounting principles and practices
Good knowledge of:

  • Financial record keeping methods
Experience:

  • Bookkeeping using advanced Microsoft Excel functions
  • Researching and compiling financial info and preparing summaries and reports
  • Using personal computers to retrieve, edit, and analyze financial data.
MQ Specialties:

  • Experience using Microsoft (MS) Word
  • Experience using MS Access software
  • Experience using Luma as it relates to payables
  • Some knowledge of supervisory practices required.

Desired Qualifications

Experience

  • Organizing, tracking, monitoring, and incorporating documentation from multiple sources into a single work product
  • Independently applying policies, procedures, or regulations in determining if financial transactions are in compliance
  • Using the State of Idaho LUMA accounting software, and legacy systems as needed
  • Troubleshooting errors in automated accounting systems
  • Reviewing and/or monitoring the work for accuracy
  • Updating/modifying financial-related desk procedure manuals
  • Providing excellent customer service
