Fine Wine & Spirits Retail Sales Specialist
Territory: Providence/Newport RI area
Description:
M.S. Walker Rhode Island is seeking a Fine Wine & Spirits Retail Sales Specialist to expand and develop business in the off-premise channel as an overlay to the assigned primary sales representatives.
Responsibilities:
- Call on (visit) a pre-determined group of retail accounts on a weekly, bi-monthly and monthly basis to present programs, new items and opportunities based on monthly initiatives determined by MSW
- Call on (visit) retail accounts outside of assigned territory to assist with key initiatives
- Lead the development of Key Retail Groups through business reviews and recaps, presentations of new programs, and upcoming product promotions; Oversight of AR, pricing integrity, and timeliness of shipments
- Expand the footprint of MS Walker products in a specific set of high-profile, high-volume and high-potential individual accounts through:
- Sales Presentations
- Display Activity
- Shelf Sets (placements, adjacencies, facings)
- Cold Box Sets (still, sparkling, boxed)
- Customer Added Value activities (in-store tastings and assistance with consumers on the floor
- Work with selected supplier representatives and dignitaries in the market to develop the business of those suppliers and drive core initiatives. Complete and submit supplier re-caps following all supplier work-withs
- Work closely with MSW Brand Managers to assist in the execution of priorities initiatives for our top suppliers to include:
- Volume opportunities (upsell quantity levels for improved price and presence)
- Brand development opportunity (quality points of distribution)
- Exclusive opportunities (partnering with key accounts)
- Responsible for completing and submitting bi-monthly progress reports to direct Sales manager and General Sales Manager
- Assist in covering key accounts during sales rep vacations when needed
- Conduct/Attend consumer and customer related events to further sales and education through consumer tasting events, wine dinners, and trade related promotion events
- Communicate with peers, management team and office for complete transparency
Measuring Success:
- Consistently sell an average of 40+ accounts per week
- Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales goals
- Individual account growth
- Brand, supplier and category-specific developmental initiatives
Requirements:
- 5+ years of industry experience
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and interdependently
- Reliable organizational and prioritizing skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Proficient in social media (IG, FB)
- Creative and dynamic problem-solving skills
- Driven by performance related compensation plans

Pay Range: $85,000 - $110,000 annually
