FinOps Administrator

Position Summary

The FinOps Administrator is responsible for the operational execution of FinOps practices,supporting cloud and platform cost visibility, reporting, allocation, and optimization activities across SDD’s environments.

The role focuses on cost data collection, tagging enforcement, reporting, dashboards, budget tracking, and day-to-day FinOps operations, working under the guidance of a Senior FinOps,Analyst or FinOps Lead.

This position acts as the bridge between cloud platforms, finance, service management, and technical teams, ensuring cost data is accurate, transparent, and actionable.

Core Responsibilities

1. Cloud & Platform Cost Monitoring

  • Monitor daily and monthly costs across:
  • Public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Oracle OCI – as applicable)
  • On-premise/private cloud services
  • SaaS platforms (M365, security tools, backup, monitoring, etc.)
  • Track consumption trends for:
  • Compute, storage, networking
  • PaaS services
  • Platform and shared services (XaaS)
  • Identify cost anomalies and escalate to FinOps Lead.

2. Cost Allocation, Tagging & Mapping

Enforce cloud tagging and labeling standards:

o Entity

o Service

o Cost center

o Environment (Dev/Test/Prod)

Validate cost allocation accuracy across:

o Entities

o Departments

o Services

Support showback and chargeback models by maintaining clean mappings.

3. FinOps Tools & Platforms

Operate and maintain FinOps and cost tools such as:

Cloud native cost tools (Azure Cost Management, AWS Cost Explorer, OCI Cost

Analysis)

FinOps platforms (Apptio Cloudability, VMware Aria Cost, or similar)

Excel / Power BI dashboards

Ensure data accuracy and consistency across tools.

Support automation of reports and alerts.

4. Budget Tracking & Forecasting Support

Track cloud and platform spending against approved budgets.

Support forecasting activities by providing:

Historical usage data

Monthly trend analysis

Variance reports

Flag budget risks early and escalate appropriately.

5. Optimization Support (Execution Level)

Support optimization initiatives by:

Identifying idle or underutilized resources

Tracking unused SaaS licenses

Supporting rightsizing and cleanup activities

Work with Cloud, Infrastructure, and Service teams to validate changes.

Track realized savings and cost avoidance.

6. Reporting & Dashboards

Prepare regular reports:

o Daily / weekly cost summaries

o Monthly showback/chargeback reports

o Service-level cost reports

o Entity-level consumption reports

Maintain dashboards for:

o Management

o Service owners

o Finance stakeholders

7. Service & ITSM Integration

Work with Service Management teams to:

o Link services in Service Catalog to cost models

o Support request-based costing

o Align CMDB data with cost allocation

Support FinOps-related service requests and workflows.

8. Governance & Documentation

Maintain FinOps operational documentation:

o Tagging standards

o Reporting definitions

o Cost allocation rules

o SOPs and runbooks

 Support audits and management reviews with accurate cost data.

Required Experience

2–5 years experience in:

o Cloud operations

o Financial reporting

o IT operations support

o Cost management or budgeting roles

Pay: AED14,000.00 - AED16,000.00 per month
