FinOps Associate

Description


This role supports merchant-related financial operations by acting as the primary finance point of contact for payouts, settlements, and reconciliations. The position works closely with cross-functional teams -including Product, Sales, Legal, Risk, and Compliance- to resolve financial and system-related issues and ensure accurate, timely merchant payouts.


Key Responsibilities


  • Serve as the primary finance point of contact for merchant-related financial operations.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to resolve
    operational and system-related financial issues.
  • Provide financial clarifications to internal teams, ensuring alignment on payout logic,
    settlement models, and merchant configurations.
  • Assist in preparing, validating, and reconciling merchant payouts, fees, VAT, and offsets
    across internal systems, ERP, and bank statements.
  • Liaise with banks and payment partners to resolve failed, delayed, or reversed transfers and
    ensure accurate payouts.
  • Support the rollout of new payout models, markets, or financial processes from a FinOps
    perspective.
  • Assist in the development of internal documentation, FAQs, and training materials.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in implementing them to enhance
    accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support month-end close activities and assist during internal and external audits.
  • Perform other duties as required to ensure smooth financial operations.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise


  • 1–3 years of experience in Financial Operations, Payments Operations, Accounting, or FinTech related roles.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite or similar) and Microsoft Excel for large datasets and reconciliations.
  • Experience with CRM or ticketing platforms is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial information clearly.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, data-driven teams.
  • Proactive and accountable mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Flexible to work in rotational shifts that suit both you and the team.
