  • Perform panel battery calculations, speaker calculations, and voltage drop calculations to verify system performance
  • Conduct on-site evaluations to verify building layouts and gather data for accurate drawings
  • Scan, organize, and maintain engineering job folders, including approved, redlined, and as-built drawings
  • Submit, deliver, and pick up plans with clients, contractors, or municipal authorities as necessary

  • Attend meetings with clients and internal project teams to resolve design or code-related questions
  • Ensure designs comply with NFPA 72, IBC, local codes, and manufacturer guidelines
  • Provide engineering research and recommendations to resolve design or plan issues

What
You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of experience designing fire alarm systems using AutoCAD (other design software a plus)
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72, IBC, and local fire codes
  • Familiarity with major fire alarm system manufacturers such as Edwards, Gamewell-FCI, FIKE, Silent Knight, and others
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and ability to learn new software tools as needed
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to handle projects from start to finish with a high degree of accuracy and quality
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to collaborate across teams
  • Self-motivated, punctual, reliable, and able to work independently or in a team
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for site visits
