Fire Alarm Technician

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, test, commission, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA standards, local Civil Defense, and authority regulations.
  • Perform multi-brand fire alarm panel troubleshooting and programming, including addressable and conventional systems.
  • Diagnose faults, alarms, troubles, and supervisory signals; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Carry out panel configuration, loop programming, device addressing, and cause & effect programming.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and functional testing of fire alarm systems.
  • Integrate fire alarm systems with other life safety systems such as:
  • Fire fighting systems
  • HVAC shutdown
  • Access control
  • BMS / elevators
  • Read and interpret approved drawings, schematics, cause & effect matrices, and technical manuals.
  • Perform system upgrades, modifications, and expansions as per site requirements.
  • Ensure all works comply with NFPA 72, NFPA 70 (NEC), and local authority requirements.
  • Prepare service reports, testing records, and compliance documentation.
  • Attend emergency breakdown calls and restore systems within agreed SLAs.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, supervisors, and clients during installation and maintenance works.
  • Ensure safe working practices and compliance with HSE regulations at all times.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant experience as a Fire Alarm Technician.
  • Proven experience working under NFPA standards and local Civil Defense regulations.
  • ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, or related field preferred.
  • Valid UAE driving license is an advantage (if applicable).
