Training & Experience: Fire alarm technicians receive on-the-job training from their employers. This training typically lasts for a few weeks and includes learning the company’s policies and procedures, as well as the fire alarm system’s features and capabilities.
Certifications & Licenses: Some states require fire alarm technicians to obtain a license to work in the field. Fire alarm technicians may also choose to earn certifications to gain additional knowledge about their responsibilities and further their career advancement opportunities.
