Fire Extinguisher Service Technician

Overview

Join a growing fire protection team as an Experienced Fire Extinguisher Service Technician. This role is hands‑on and field‑based, focused on inspections, maintenance, and compliance for portable fire extinguishers across commercial sites. You’ll work independently, manage your daily route, and ensure customers remain compliant with NFPA 10 and local regulations.

This position is ideal for technicians with direct extinguisher experience who want stable, long‑term work with a reputable company.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, recharge, and maintain portable fire extinguishers
• Perform hydrostatic testing (if certified)
• Complete service tags, reports, and compliance documentation
• Communicate professionally with customers on-site
• Ensure all work meets NFPA 10 and local code requirements
• Travel to customer locations as part of a daily route

Requirements (Must Have)

• Direct experience servicing portable fire extinguishers
• Strong understanding of NFPA 10
• Ability to work independently in the field
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools
• Professional communication and customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Hydrostatic testing experience
• NICET certification (any level)
• Experience with additional fire protection systems (suppression, alarms, etc.)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $45,760.00 - $58,240.00 per year

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
