Fire Protection Engineer

Job Description

The Fire Protection Design Engineer is responsible for the design, layout, and documentation of fire protection systems, including fire Water, fire suppression, and fire alarm systems. The role involves applying engineering principles and fire protection standards to deliver safe, efficient, and code-compliant designs that meet project and client requirements , we are looking for Fire protection Design Engineer ( Electrical / Mechanical ) which matching with mention responsibilities and qualifications .

Responsibilities:-

• Familiar with all International standards like for Fire Protection like NFPA, Civil Deviance ,Saudi Building codes, IPC
• Candidate should have the experience in Either Mechanical systems such as Fire Suppression , Fire water , Or Electrical Systems such as Fire alarm & Gas system , Or both systems ( Mechanical & Electrical ) in all Design aspects .
• Should be able to design & Handle complete the Fire Alarms , Fire suppression , Fire Gas systems and Fire suppression for both commercial and industrial projects .
• Prefer to having previous experience with Main Clients projects such as ( SEC , ARAMCO , SABIC .. ETC ) .
• Perform hydraulic calculations using software such as Elite Fire, HASS, or SprinkCAD .
• Having the ability to use all software which related to Fire suppression systems which related to the Design aspects .
• Classification of Fire Hazards, Pipe Sizing, Sprinkler layout, Fire Pump Sizing, Fire water demand and standard installations.
• Review as-built drawings and ensure design documentation accuracy.
• Prepare system drawings, device layouts, riser diagrams, and panel wiring schematics.
• Having the knowledge to perform the value engineering for the required projects along with full knowledge of technical aspect .
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, and commissioning phases
• Head and Hydraulic calculation, Pipe Sizing & selection of fire pumps and Review of Hydraulic Calculations for entire system.
• Support the preparation of cost estimates, bills of materials (BOM), and project proposals.
• Select appropriate fire alarm panels, detectors, notification devices, and accessories based on project specifications and applicable codes.
• Review project specifications, submittals, and construction documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Responsible for the preparation of Basic design, tender packages, bill of quantities, scope of work, general concept, execution and coordination drawings for Complete Fire protection requirements
• Preparing drawings – Tender, Design & Final Drawings for preparation of shop drawings.
• Prepare Fire alarm Riser Drawings along with knowledge for interface / integrations for all systems
• Shop drawings preparation and Material submittals For complete Fire protection systems and Fire alarm system.
• Attending meetings, compiling report data, and supporting presentations to managers and clients

Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor's degree in ( Electrical or Mechanical or fire protection engineering or any related field )
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in fire protection system design
• Knowledge of fire codes, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in fire protection design software.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
