Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and local codes. This role requires a strong understanding of system design, schematics, and electrical components, along with hands-on experience in construction inspection and fire protection systems. The Fire Sprinkler Inspector will play a critical role in safeguarding properties and lives through thorough inspections and system evaluations.

Duties

  • Conduct detailed inspections of fire sprinkler systems, including piping, valves, and heads, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and local regulations.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and system design documents to verify installation accuracy.
  • Test fire sprinkler components such as sensors, alarms, and low voltage systems to confirm proper operation.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other field service equipment for system adjustments or repairs.
  • Perform construction inspections during system installation phases to ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Document inspection results accurately and prepare detailed reports for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and clients to resolve system issues or deficiencies.
  • Maintain knowledge of NEC codes related to fire alarm systems and electrical requirements for fire protection equipment.
  • Assist in the sales process by providing technical expertise on fire alarm and sprinkler system features when needed.

Experience

  • Proven experience in fire sprinkler fitting, construction inspection, or as a service technician specializing in fire alarm or low voltage systems.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools and power tools in field settings.
  • Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics, CAD drawings, and system design documentation.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, sensors, electrical wiring, NEC codes, and alarm system sales is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience working with construction projects or performing field service inspections is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and electrical diagrams related to fire suppression and alarm systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
