Firefighter

The New Smyrna Beach Fire Department is now hiring Firefighter/EMT/Paramedics. Our Fire Department has multiple positions available. Candidates must have a valid Florida Firefighter Certificate of Compliance and state of Florida, EMT and or Paramedic license.

COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE:

New Smyrna Beach Fire Department offers competitive pay, promotional opportunities, incentive pay for fire service related certificates and qualified educational degrees. Work schedule is a 24 hour on, 48 hour off schedule.

Salary: Starting pay is based on years of verified experience as a certified firefighter. Applicants may qualify for placement at higher pay steps depending on prior service as a certified firefighter.

*The salaries listed below do not include built in overtime or holiday pay.

• Firefighter Paramedic: $51,251.20 plus $9,000 annual incentive paid bi-weekly.
• Single Certified Paramedic: $51,251.20 a year and will be paid for all non-shift hours while in fire school in addition to your hours worked on shift. Once Firefighter Certificate of Compliance is obtained, you will be eligible for the Paramedic incentive pay.
• Firefighter EMT: $51,251.20
• All positions: Transport pay $3.00 plus annual built in FLSA overtime.
• Tuition Reimbursement and additional monthly compensation for qualified certifications and Degrees
