Job Summary
As a Firefighter, you will play a crucial role in protecting lives and property by responding to emergencies, extinguishing fires, and providing medical assistance. This position requires a dedicated individual who can work effectively under pressure and is committed to serving the community. Firefighters must possess strong physical abilities and technical skills to handle various emergency situations. This job is Monday-Friday 8 am - 4 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to fire alarms and emergency calls, assessing the situation upon arrival.
  • Extinguish fires using appropriate techniques and equipment while ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
  • Perform search and rescue operations in hazardous environments to locate and assist victims.
  • Administer first aid and basic life support, including CPR, to injured individuals until further medical assistance arrives.
  • Conduct regular inspections of firefighting equipment and vehicles to ensure operational readiness.
  • Participate in training exercises to maintain proficiency in firefighting techniques, emergency response protocols, and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with other emergency services personnel during incidents to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Engage in community education programs about fire prevention and safety measures.

Experience
Candidates should ideally possess the following skills:

  • At least 115 fire fighter basic 1 certified. (Required)
  • Current CPAT certification (Required)
  • Must be 21 years of age. (Required)
  • IFSAC FF1, FF2, Instructor 1. (Preferred)
  • Driving experience for operating fire apparatus safely. (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in assessing vital signs and administering CPR effectively.
  • Mechanical knowledge for maintaining firefighting equipment and vehicles.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during rescue operations or equipment handling.
  • Certification in first aid and basic life support is preferred but not mandatory.

This role demands a high level of commitment, physical fitness, and a willingness to learn continuously in a dynamic environment dedicated to public safety.
