Examples of Duties
Under general supervision, controls & extinguishes fires, protects life & property, & maintains all fire equipment. Receives & responds to fire alarms & other emergency calls performing the necessary functions & operations to efficiently handle any fire ground situation. Performs fire inspections & pre-fire planning. Minor vehicle & equipment maintenance, & other related tasks as assigned. Reports to the Shift Captain and/or Indian Land Fire District within the established chain of command. This position will be stationed in Indian Land Fire District, Stations 1 or 2 with a 24hr on-duty shift schedule
Typical Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent
NFPA Firefighter I certification IFSAC and or Pro-board
Infection Control
Haz-Mat op’s6
Medical first responder or South Carolina EMT
Basic Vehicle Extrication
ICS 100, 200 and 700
Certified Fire Academy Transcript
