Firefighter / Paramedic

The City of Isle of Palms is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic.

The current salary of $60,772-$70,905 does not include built in overtime. As of July 1, 2026, a salary of $65,340-$76,235 which also not include built in overtime. These salary ranges are based on years of experience.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a South Carolina Class E permit within 4 weeks of hire.
• Must have Firefighter I & II and Paramedic Certification
• Applicants must consent to a background check, preemployment physical, and drug test.

Education, Training and Experience:

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license
• Possession of a valid South Carolina Class E driver’s permit within four weeks of employment.
• Completion of requirements of NFPA, IFSAC or Pro Board for Firefighter I & Firefighter II. And be certified as a Paramedic in the state of Suth Carolina.
• Successful completion of NIMS, ICS or equivalency (IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800) within six months of hire.
