Responsibilities/Duties
Maintenance Activities
- Maintain Fire Fighting and Dewatering systems according to specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fire protection systems, including minor modifications at stations while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting issues with Fire Fighting and Dewatering systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure all parts of the systems are functioning properly and safely.
- Monitor inventory levels for materials and equipment to ensure availability for ongoing maintenance activities.
Troubleshooting and Repair
- Oversee and supervise the repair of damaged assets, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of issues.
- Perform emergency repairs quickly to restore system functionality.
- Address malfunctions through corrective maintenance and resolve issues effectively.
- Assist in rehabilitating existing railway assets to extend their service life and improve safety.
- Conduct necessary installations, inspections, tests, and maintenance as required.
- Analyze asset conditions and provide detailed assessments to determine required interventions.
Technical Analysis
- Conduct performance analysis and simulations to optimize system efficiency and functionality.
- Perform asset condition surveys and monitoring to assess the system's performance and ensure quality control.
- Respond to system failures by diagnosing root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development of the maintenance budget and ensure compliance with financial constraints.
Team Management
- Supervise and oversee Fire Fighting and Dewatering technicians, as well as assistant technicians, ensuring collaboration with service providers and other engineering disciplines.
- Evaluate subcontractor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) through regular inspections, ensuring high standards of quality, efficiency, and timely reporting.
Documentation and Reporting
- Prepare technical documentation, including reports, specifications, and user manuals.
- Ensure timely documentation of inspections, using checklists and maintaining accurate records in the CMMS within 24 hours of inspections.
- Track maintenance logs, equipment failures, and corrective actions for future reference.
- Notify subcontractors of necessary actions and apply contractual clauses as needed.
Collaboration
- Work closely with technicians and engineers to resolve maintenance issues in a timely manner.
- Interface with operations and maintenance teams to facilitate their activities and ensure effective communication.
- Participate in the development and implementation of departmental goals, objectives, and policies.
Field Survey and Assessments
- Conduct field surveys and assessments to collect data for engineering studies or project planning.
- Provide insights into existing infrastructure conditions to support new project implementation.
Emergency Response
- Respond promptly to service calls and urgent issues to ensure minimal disruption in services.
Inspection and Compliance
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to assess its condition and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Test operational systems and emergency features to verify their functionality.
- Ensure that all maintenance activities adhere to relevant safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct safety audits, participate in incident investigations, and improve safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety rules, reporting issues to Executive Maintenance as necessary.
Quality Assurance
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure that all maintenance work meets company standards and industry regulations.
- Continuously assess and improve maintenance techniques to enhance service quality.
Other Duties
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Be available to work after hours when required.
Essential Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
Knowledge:
- General technical knowledge of firefighting and dewatering systems.
- Team management skills and the ability to lead effectively.
- Optional: Knowledge of railway systems.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems, such as Maximo.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Understanding of PLC systems and mechanical components.
- Proficiency in English (fluent in speaking and reading); Arabic is essential.
Experience:
- From 3-5 years of experience in maintenance operations and project management.
- Experience with change management processes and a proven track record of improving methods and quality.
- Familiarity with CMMS/BMS systems (preferably Maximo).
