RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Team Management
- Supervise and coordinate firefighting and dewatering technicians and assistants.
- Oversee service providers to ensure adherence to preventive maintenance (PM) plans.
- Provide technical leadership and support to the team on a shift basis.
Routine Maintenance & Repairs
- Supervise the maintenance of firefighting and dewatering systems as per operational standards.
- Ensure the availability and proper condition of maintenance tools and equipment.
- Diagnose failures and implement effective repair strategies.
Training & Development
- Deliver training on preventive and corrective maintenance procedures for firefighting systems (e.g., FM200, CO2, Foam, Sprinklers, Pumps).
- Train team members on fire extinguisher inspection and general safety practices.
System Condition Monitoring
- Conduct performance and condition assessments of firefighting and dewatering assets.
- Ensure system calibration, reliability, and compliance with health and safety standards.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate logs and records of maintenance, repairs, service requests, and spare parts usage.
- Generate reports on maintenance activities and team performance for review.
Customer Interaction
- Communicate effectively with internal clients regarding service issues and recommendations.
- Ensure alignment with health and safety regulations and appliance standards.
Inspection & Testing
- Supervise subcontractors to ensure full execution of PM activities.
- Conduct inspections and test system functionality, including emergency features.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Identify and resolve technical issues across firefighting and dewatering systems.
- Replace defective components to restore full system functionality.
Emergency Response
- Respond to urgent system failures and perform immediate corrective action.
- Provide after-hours support when required.
Safety Compliance
- Enforce safety protocols during all maintenance activities.
- Conduct safety checks and ensure clean, organized, and hazard-free work environments.
General Responsibilities
- Perform any other duties assigned in support of maintenance operations.
- Willingness to work across different Line 3 locations and outside regular working hours when needed.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certification in firefighting, dewatering, or building maintenance is an advantage.
- Strong eyesight and normal color vision.
- Ability to use and calibrate various test instruments.
- Flexible to work shifts and across multiple work locations.
Knowledge
- Solid knowledge of firefighting and dewatering systems maintenance.
- Familiarity with general maintenance methods and tools.
- Understanding of maintenance management systems (e.g., Maximo).
- Technical understanding of electromechanical systems.
Experience
- 5 - 7 years of experience as a qualified mechanical or electromechanical technician.
- Proven experience in maintaining firefighting and dewatering systems is highly preferred.
- Railway systems maintenance experience is mandatory.
