Job Description:
The Energy Banking Portfolio Analyst will support the Energy Banking team through high-level organization, data management and portfolio analytics. This position will maintain and streamline databases, enhance reporting and collateral tracking, and provide analytical insight into current credit and collateral positions. This position reports to the Energy Banking Division Manager.
Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain and continuously improve the Energy Banking collateral and loan tracking database

Compile and analyze portfolio reports showing exposure by borrower, operator, basin, collateral, etc.

Aggregate engineering and financial data to support borrowing base reviews and internal valuations

Develop and automate recurring reporting in Excel or Power BI

Ensure data integrity and consistency across internal systems, spreadsheets and core bank exports

Coordinate with credit administration and loan operations to ensure accurate covenant tracking, tickler maintenance and document exceptions

Prepare data packages and portfolio summaries for relationship reviews, audits and credit meetings

Assist with ongoing engineering report integration and sensitivity analyses for reserve-based lending

Support process improvement and workflow optimization across the team – identify inefficiencies and propose solutions

Maintain detailed records and audit-ready files on each relationship, emphasizing consistency and accuracy
Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Energy Management, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields

3-7 years of relevant experience, ideally in:

Oil and gas finance, accounting or reserves management, or
-
Energy lending or reserve-based finance

Strong Excel and data management skills (experience with Power Query, Power BI or SQL a plus)

Experience managing large data sets and ensuring data quality / reconciliation across systems

Strong understanding of oil and gas financials, production data and engineering report structure

Excellent organizational skills – ability to track volumes of information at a detailed level

Strong communication skills, with the ability to distill complex data into clear summaries for management

Self-starter who can identify and implement process improvements independently

Detail-focused, process-oriented, and proactive in organizing information

Comfortable bridging engineering and financial data

Works well in a small, high-performing, team where accuracy and accountability are critical thinking skills.
