Overview
As the Goalkeeper Coach for the First Team at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will be responsible for leading the development, training, and performance of all first-team goalkeepers, ensuring they are technically, physically, tactically, and mentally prepared for matchday performance in line with the club's football philosophy and methodology.
Key Responsibilities Coaching
- Plan, deliver, and review goalkeeper training sessions
- Deliver high-quality, engaging, and position-specific coaching to First Team goalkeepers in line with the club's tactical principles.
- Conduct regular pre-match and post-match goalkeeper analysis, including video review and feedback sessions
- Maintain and monitor individual development plans (IDPs) for each goalkeeper
- Assume a leadership role on matchday by leading warm-ups, tactical briefings and live game analysis
- Apply the latest and most appropriate pedagogical findings to team talks/meetings to facilitate player's learning and retention, utilising a player-led approach where appropriate/effective
- Collaborate with the Head Coach and other support coaches to ensure cohesion, understanding and alignment across all units
- Collaborate with the coaching staff to plan the training week, allocating ample time to deliver goalkeeping concepts and principles.
- Work closely with the U21 coaching team to ensure continuity in training methods and player expectations between teams
- Provide analysis and key metrics regarding goalkeeper performance for use in board meetings, strategy meetings, coaching meetings and/or any other relevant forum
Learning and Development
- Attend training courses as directed by the Head Coach or senior staff.
- Actively participate in the Club's workshops and training seminars.
- Propose and collaborate on all improvements for the benefit of the players, colleagues, and club.
Other
- Ensure all continuous professional development and training courses are up to date and the minimum professional standards are met.
- Further duties at the discretion of the line manager or Sporting Director.
Qualifications
- UEFA / AFC A Football Coaching License
- UEFA / AFC A Football Goalkeeping Coaching License
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Proven experience coaching goalkeepers at elite or professional level
- Track record of successful coaching demonstrated through improved performance at previous clubs
- Proven ability to coach goalkeeping concepts and adapt training to suit the team's needs in line with the Club's philosophy
- Ability to translate data-driven insight into practice via on-the-grass coaching sessions
- Strong communication skills to effectively relay instructions in a concise and understandable manner
- Proficiency in video analysis tools (i.e., HUDL, Wyscout, Sportscode) to study and improve individual performance
- Ability to produce detailed reports and presentations for coaching staff and club executives
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multi-disciplinary departments
- Comfortable adapting to a new cultural and professional environment, with an openness to learning about Saudi football
- Experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
