Fiscal Management Specialist 1
THE POSITION

The Department of Health (DOH) is actively recruiting for a Fiscal Management Specialist 1 to provide fiscal consultation and manage funds for the Women, Infant, and Children's (WIC) program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Fiscal Management Specialist 1, you will be responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all grant mandates and activities, along with federal budget regulations, in order to accurately evaluate distribution of costs between the funding sources. In addition, you will evaluate budget requests and adjustments, prepare recommendations, and provide assistance in the preparation and review of budgetary requests and other fiscal documents and transactions. You will also employ your critical thinking skills to analyze expenditure projections and prepare fiscal summaries or reports of projected problems in WIC appropriations. Furthermore, you will assist in the overall monitoring of WIC funds expenditures and balances using the Commonwealth Accounting System (SAP).

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Financial Programs Trainee (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of experience in paraprofessional fiscal administration work, and a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, economics, or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
