· Manages the daily operations of the fish/seafood section, focusing on product quality, safety, team management, and customer service under Fresh Food Department.
· Job involves also in training and orientation of staff and ensuring compliance with the policy and health and safety guidelines of the store. Performs many functions as well in achieving productivity.
· Act as the high-level contact with key clients, and become their trusted consultant and advisor for Fishery & Sea Food related products.
· Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the fish counter, including cleaning, cutting, filleting, and displaying products.
· Monitoring stock levels, ordering products to ensure maximum availability, minimizing waste, and reducing inventory.
· Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., Baladiya requirements in Qatar) and maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment.
· Coaching and mentoring team members, managing staff performance, and fostering a professional, customer-focused environment.
· Ensuring high standards of service at the fish counter, addressing customer needs, and monitoring staff interactions.
· Develop good relationship with senior and midlevel management of suppliers for cost negotiations and on time delivery of Fish & Sea Food.
· Mentor, coaching and training of new stockers at Fishery section to ensure team understands the operations of the section. E.g. ordering of products, shelf life, pricing & costing and quality of Fish and Sea Food products sold at the store.
· Managing the duty shifts of stockers at Fishery section and scheduling break periods, work hours, and vacations
· Conduct competitor survey every month related to Fishery & Sea Food with competitors and report the findings to the department head to decide on better product range, pricing mark-ups and in identifying new suppliers
· Promotes a quality driven environment through educating the customers on latest products such as, fish fillet, marinated items and fresh pre- packed.
· Responsible in creating and promoting an innovative environment in the Fishery & Sea Food section
