Key Responsibilities:
Class Instruction:
- Lead group classes, ensuring sessions are engaging and suitable for members of varying levels.
- Develop and deliver dynamic content that supports members in achieving their goals.
- Demonstrate proper techniques to ensure exercises are performed safely and effectively.
Class Planning and Organisation:
- Plan and organise sessions that align with the objectives of members, integrating a balance of strength, flexibility, and movement.
- Keep classes diverse and engaging, incorporating a variety of exercises to maintain member interest.
Member Engagement and Motivation:
- Create a positive, motivating environment that encourages members to meet their goals.
- Offer individual attention and adapt exercises to suit members with varying abilities or injuries.
- Use positive reinforcement to keep members engaged and committed to their practice.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all activities are conducted safely and according to best practices.
- Monitor members for signs of injury or fatigue, providing modifications as needed.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with the latest trends, techniques, and best practices through continued education and certification.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to enhance the overall programme offering.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Requirements
- Group Fitness Instructor Certification (ACE, AFAA, etc.) for Fit Dance from a recognized organization.
- Specific training or certification in dance fitness, or related disciplines (e.g. Zumba, Barre, or similar dance-fitness licenses)
- Proven experience leading group classes.
- CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Passion for movement, music, and motivating others.
