Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates and BOQs for interior fit-out projects, encompassing materials, labor, and subcontractor services.
- Tender Analysis: Analyze project drawings, specifications, and tender documents to define scope and prepare competitive bids.
- Supplier Management: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and negotiate pricing.
- Value Engineering: Identify opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Cost Monitoring: Track project costs to ensure they remain within budget and identify potential cost overruns or savings.
- Site Visits: Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather information for accurate cost estimations.
- Data Management: Maintain a database of historical cost data, unit rates, and market price trends for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Client Interaction: Present cost-related information to clients and provide expert advice during meetings.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of interior construction, joinery, and carpentry processes. Experience with design software like CAD may be beneficial.
- Analytical Skills: Exceptional mathematical and analytical skills to accurately calculate costs and analyze project documents.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation abilities to secure favorable pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in estimates and identify potential issues.
- Market Knowledge: Understanding of local (e.g., UAE) market trends in material and labor costs.
- Experience: Proven experience in estimating interior fit-out and joinery projects.
