
- Ensure 24x7 operation and maintenance of GPON/FTTx network, perform preventive & corrective maintenance, manage change management of Vodafone fibre infrastructure, and troubleshoot issues related to topology, OSP/ISP/IBC components.
- Provide O&M support for Fixed Access platforms to respond, resolve, and provide workarounds for incidents in real time within agreed customer SLAs.
- Provide Level 2 support for GPON (ISAM 7302/7360, AMS 5520), DWDM, JDSU ONMS and all physical cabling related issues including handling complex incidents, problems, and software upgrades on NEs and OMS.
- Responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and reliability of fibre network and its infrastructure.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence.
- Plan and execute network changes, upgrades, expansions, migration, and relocation projects, ensuring proper impact analysis, change management communications, minimal service impact and proper rollback procedures.
- Ensure end-to-end service readiness and acceptance by validating fibre testing (OTDR, power levels, continuity), reviewing RFA/RFS milestones, and resolving pre-activation issues to enable timely and delay-free customer onboarding in line with SLAs.
- Handle operation, integration, and commissioning of GPON network (ISAM 7302 & 7360, AMS 5520, NA-F 5530, SDC 5529, HDM 5580) for corporate, residential, and mobile backhaul services over fibre (FTTx).
- Provide end-to-end Fixed Access network support (presales, requirements/LLD, development, pre-integration testing, end-to-end testing, deployment, training, subscriber migration, customer acceptance, maintenance, and customer support).
- Apply FTTx design and fibre engineering best practices, including OSP/ISP design and GIS-based data handling, and represent the Fixed Access domain in cross-functional projects, architecture discussions, and release planning activities.
- Conduct capacity planning and utilization analysis of fibre networks and perform monthly studies to inform design, rollout, and planning teams.
- Operations and configuration support for rollout of OLT, DWDM networks, including daily health checks on DWDM and microwave networks.
- Oversee data centre, central offices, and mobile sites cabling activities (fibre/copper/power), including laying, patching, labelling, routing standards, and maintenance of rack/ODF/splitter documentation, ensuring compliance with structured cabling and telecom standards.
- Provide technical guidance and engineering support to field teams and assist with vendor equipment selection (OLT, ONT/CPE, access platforms), including supervision of fibre activities such as splicing, patching, OTDR testing, port activation, and fault localization.
- Proactively identify network risks and vulnerabilities, ensuring recovery, redundancy, and business continuity plans are in place.
- Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation including end to end Inventory, HLD/LLD/SLD, as-built diagrams, network records, network topology, operational procedures, and records of faults, maintenance activities, and network changes including the MOP/SOP.
- Create and present network design summaries, including methodology and rationale.
- Contribute to automation and digital transformation initiatives in the Fibre & Access domain.
- Ensure projects/products are delivered on time and within budget.
