Fleet Maintenance & Driver Support Specialist

Position Overview

Safe-T Transportation is seeking a dependable and hands-on Fleet Maintenance & Driver Support Specialist to assist with daily vehicle coordination, light mechanical support, and backup driving duties. This role is essential to maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and reliability of our Non-Emergency Medical Transportation fleet.

This position requires someone who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and flexible enough to support operations as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Fleet Maintenance Coordination

• Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks such as charging batteries, inspecting tires and brakes, and checking fluid levels
• Install plug-and-play equipment such as dash cameras and monitoring devices
• Monitor vehicle condition and proactively report issues
• Coordinate pickup and drop-off of vehicles for scheduled repairs and maintenance
• Maintain detailed vehicle maintenance logs and service records

Vehicle Cleanliness & Upkeep

• Perform light interior cleaning including trash removal and wiping down seats and surfaces
• Ensure vehicles remain presentable and client-ready at all times

Driver & Operations Support

• Serve as a backup driver when needed
• Provide client pickup and drop-off services in a safe and professional manner
• Support daily operational needs as assigned by management

Requirements

• Must be at least 23 years of age
• Valid Driver’s License
• Valid Michigan Chauffeur’s License
• Clear driving record
• No felony convictions within the last 7 years
• Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and light mechanical ability
• Ability to lift and move moderate weight as needed
• Strong attention to detail and reliability

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with fleet vehicles
• Familiarity with dash camera installation or vehicle monitoring systems
• Previous transportation or NEMT experience

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Hourly W-2 position
• Minimum 30 hours per week
• Flexible schedule based on operational needs

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
