Fleet Maintenance Manager

Duties

  • Manage daily operations of the fleet maintenance department, including scheduling repairs and preventative maintenance for trucks, heavy equipment, and farm machinery
  • Supervise a team of technicians, providing guidance on diagnostics, repairs, and safety procedures
  • Conduct thorough inspections using schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues with excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial equipment
  • Oversee repairs involving transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and diesel engines
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain detailed maintenance records for all vehicles and equipment
  • Coordinate with dealership networks for specialized repairs such as Caterpillar or other heavy machinery brands
  • Implement cost-effective maintenance strategies while maintaining high standards of quality and safety

Requirements

  • Proven experience in dealership service departments or heavy equipment maintenance environments
  • Extensive mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques
  • Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery
  • Strong understanding of schematics for hydraulics, power tools assembly, transmissions, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment repair including HVAC systems and diesel engine troubleshooting
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining excellent customer service skills
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, service manuals, and diagnostic software
  • Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy machinery safely
