About Us

We are a busy and growing trucking company based in Addison, IL, operating a large-scale fleet of over 120 trucks and trailers. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Fleet Manager to join our team and ensure our equipment is safe, compliant, and operating at peak performance.

Job Summary

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of our trucking equipment. Because you will be hands-on with the vehicles, a valid CDL is required for this role. You will bridge the gap between our mechanics, dispatchers, and drivers, ensuring that all trucks and trailers are properly inspected, test-driven, and maintained according to safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough routine and post-repair inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs and ensure safety standards are met.
  • Test Driving: Perform test drives on commercial trucks to diagnose mechanical issues or verify that repairs have been successfully completed.
  • Driver Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding equipment issues. Communicate effectively to troubleshoot problems, schedule maintenance, and enforce safety protocols.
  • Fleet Oversight: Help monitor the overall health and status of our 120+ trucks and trailers, coordinating with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
  • Compliance: Ensure all equipment meets Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is strictly required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in fleet management, trucking, diesel mechanics, or a similar role.
  • Language Skills: English proficiency (both verbal and written) is required to effectively communicate with drivers, management, and vendors.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial vehicle mechanics, preventative maintenance, and DOT safety regulations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and a team-oriented attitude.

Pay: $1,200.00 - $1,800.00 per week
