Fleet Mechanic

Company Overview:

Landscaping By J Michael is a landscape & irrigation company providing services to both residential, commercial and public construction throughout Massachusetts. We have over 40 years of experience in all aspects of the industry.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of maintenance and repairs in shop.
• Maintenance/Repair of company small engine equipment including commercial mowers, chainsaws, blowers, trimmers, etc.
• Maintenance/Repair of small equipment including skid steers, mini excavators, electric & hydraulic sanders, etc.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on all company vehicles; body work and painting as needed.
• Perform Preventative Maintenance on specialized equipment such as mini excavators, track machines, Ditchwitch SK900, hydro-seeders, Sanders, Fisher Snow Plows, etc.
• Loading/Receiving materials; track inventory.
• Deliveries to client sites as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years experience working on gasoline and diesel engines; small engine repairs.
• Certifications from STIHL, Kohler, Wright Stander and B&S are a plus.
• Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and repairing electrical and hydraulic problems.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with others.
• Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds and to be on your feet for 8 hours per day.
• Valid Driver's License; CDL a plus
• MA Hoisting License preferred
• Computer and technology skills a plus
