Mechanic

The Miranda Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel & Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of landscaping vehicles, trucks, and heavy-duty machinery. This role is critical to keeping our operations running efficiently across Kauai.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on:
• Diesel trucks and work vehicles
• Landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.)
• Heavy-duty machinery (excavators, skid steers, loaders)
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections to minimize downtime
• Repair or replace engines, transmissions, brakes, and other major components
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Ensure all equipment meets safety and operational standards
• Coordinate with management on equipment needs and repair priorities
• Assist with emergency repairs in the field when needed

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a diesel and/or heavy equipment mechanic
• Strong knowledge of: Diesel engines, Hydraulic systems, and Electrical systems
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues independently
• Experience working with landscaping or construction equipment preferred
• Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

Preferred (Not Required)

• ASE Certification or equivalent experience
• Welding and fabrication skills
• Experience with fleet maintenance programs

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $60.00 per hour
