Join our dynamic team as a Fleet Mechanic specializing in Aerial and Tree Service Equipment! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heavy-duty machinery including bucket trucks, spider lifts, grapple loader trucks, chippers, stump grinders and more. Your expertise will ensure that our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, supporting our commitment to excellence in service and safety. You'll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose breakdowns, manage a parts inventory, and work with outside dealers when needed. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues involving transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, etc.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation for all repairs and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Operate heavy equipment during maintenance or testing procedures.
- Assist with tire service, wheel alignments, brake repairs, and hydraulic system repairs to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
- Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and diagnostic devices effectively to perform repairs with precision.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations including air brake tests and proper lifting techniques for heavy components.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment or commercial fleet maintenance
- Hands-on experience with aerial / bucket truck systems — boom hydraulics, PTOs, outriggers
- Strong hydraulics background: hose fabrication, cylinder seals, valve bodies, pump diagnosis
- Diesel engine experience required
- Familiarity with wood chippers (Bandit, Vermeer, or similar) — feed roller systems, knife changes, drive systems
- Comfortable with small engine maintenance — chainsaws, stump grinders, auxiliary engines
- Ability to diagnose independently and prioritize a repair schedule across multiple pieces of equipment
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
