Flexible Weekend Childcare Teacher

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Weekend Childcare Teacher to join our educational team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood development and eager to contribute to a nurturing learning environment during weekends and possibly looking to make some extra money. The position offers an opportunity to work with children across various age groups, supporting their growth through engaging activities and structured lessons. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, classroom management abilities, and experience working with young children. A background in early childhood education, preschool experience, or Montessori methods is highly preferred. This role involves developing curriculum, implementing lesson plans, and fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills.

Duties

• Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles across literacy, math, physical education, and other subjects
• Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports childhood development and child welfare
• Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management strategies
• Facilitate activities that promote early intervention and special education needs when applicable
• Support children’s social skills through effective classroom management and communication skills
• Collaborate with parents and staff to ensure each child's individual needs are met
• Maintain accurate documentation of student activities and progress
• Ensure compliance with all childcare regulations and safety standards during weekend hours

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in early childhood education, including classroom management and lesson planning
• Experience with curriculum development related to childhood development, literacy education, and STEM subjects such as math
• Knowledge of special education practices, early intervention strategies, and behavior management techniques
• Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with children, parents, and team members
• Previous classroom experience in preschool or daycare environments is highly desirable
