Flex/On-Call 1099 Contract Security Officer – Level 2, 3, and 4 (Texas)

Job Summary:

Security Officer – Level 2 (Unarmed Security Officer)

Level 2 Security Officers provide basic security services, including access control, surveillance, and reporting. They serve as visible deterrents to crime and assist in maintaining a safe environment for clients and visitors.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol assigned areas on foot or via vehicle.
  • Conduct access control by checking identification, logging visitors, and ensuring only authorized personnel enter secured areas.
  • Observe and report suspicious activities, safety hazards, and security violations.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional security presence.
  • Complete incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities.
  • Respond to emergencies, assist with evacuations, and coordinate with law enforcement if necessary.

Requirements:

  • Must have a Level 2 Non-Commissioned Security License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to stand and patrol for long periods.
  • Strong communication and observational skills.
  • No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or customer service.
  • Basic first aid/CPR certification.

Security Officer – Level 3 (Commissioned Security Officer – Armed)

Job Summary:

Level 3 Security Officers are armed and licensed to carry firearms while providing enhanced security services. They are responsible for protecting high-risk properties, deterring criminal activity, and responding to potential threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry and maintain a firearm while on duty, ensuring safety and legal compliance at all times.
  • Provide a strong visible presence to deter criminal activity.
  • Conduct routine and random security patrols of the premises.
  • Enforce property rules and regulations while ensuring a safe environment.
  • De-escalate conflicts and intervene in security threats when necessary.
  • Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, and security breaches.
  • Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Level 3 Commissioned Security License from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
  • Must be at least 21 years old (or meet state firearm requirements).
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Proficient in de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to stand, patrol, and respond quickly to incidents.
  • Prior military, law enforcement, or armed security experience.
  • Tactical training or active shooter response training.
  • Proficiency in report writing and incident documentation.

Security Officer – Level 4 (Personal Protection Officer – PPO)

Job Summary:

Level 4 Security Officers are Personal Protection Officers (PPOs) licensed to provide executive protection and high-risk security services for VIPs, corporate executives, and high-profile individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide close protection for clients during travel, events, and daily activities.
  • Conduct threat assessments and advance security planning before client engagements.
  • Escort clients safely and securely while maintaining a discreet but protective presence.
  • Monitor for suspicious behavior and potential threats in public and private environments.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement or emergency services when needed.
  • Ensure secure transportation and develop emergency response protocols.
  • Maintain high-level confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Level 4 Personal Protection Officer (PPO) License from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
  • Must have a Level 3 Commissioned Security License before applying for Level 4.
  • Extensive firearms and defensive tactics training.
  • Clean criminal background and strong ethical standards.
  • Must be physically fit and mentally alert.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure and fast-paced environments.
  • Military or law enforcement background.
  • Experience in executive protection, VIP security, or high-threat protection.
