Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional development.
  • Support classroom management by engaging children in activities that encourage positive behavior and social skills.
  • Provide care and supervision for children during daily routines such as snack time, outdoor play, nap time, and transitions.
  • Adapt lesson plans to meet the individual needs of children, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning and child welfare.
  • Support classroom activities related to Montessori methods or other educational philosophies as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and execute developmental assessments and standardized testing preparations.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques.
  • Familiarity with special education strategies and behavior management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and age groups as a floater teacher.
  • Experience with literacy education, math instruction, physical education, and tutoring is highly valued.
