Chapel Hill Day Care Center is seeking passionate educators to join our team! Teachers looking for a dynamic, fast-paced, fun environment to work in are encouraged to apply.

Role Responsibilities

Assist with planning and executing activities that support the cognitive, physical and social-emotional growth and development of children in care

Responsible for Assisting in creating an appropriate and safe learning environment
● Ensuring the welfare, health and safety of all children
● Develop partnerships with parents/guardians on behalf of each child and engage and encourage parent participation in the program
● Keep up to date with in-service training, certifications and compliance.

Skills & Abilities

● Knowledge of early childhood development and group care practices.
● Effectively able to collaborate with teachers, leadership and families
● Strong communication, problem solving, and priority setting skills
● Ability to maintain an overall positive and professional attitude
● Effectively able to plan, organize and implement educational activities
● Make sound decisions on behalf of children, while protecting their well-being
● Serve as a role model for children, their families and other staff members.
● Manage confidential information appropriately.
● Develop a NAEYC classroom portfolio

Require Qualifications

● Associates or bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, psychology, or related
● 2 years professional teaching experience with children age 5 or younger, preferably in a 5 Star licensed program.
● Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP).
● Must meet North Carolina guidelines for the role, including passing a criminal background check and a negative TB test. .
● CPR and First Aid certified preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
