Position: Floating Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Peninsula- Williamsburg, Hampton, Newport News

Summary

We are seeking a Floating Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance operations across multiple properties in the Peninsula- Williamsburg, Hampton, Newport News This role is responsible for ensuring all communities are operating efficiently and in compliance with company standards. The Floating Maintenance Supervisor will provide hands-on support, direct property maintenance teams, and ensure high-quality service, safety, and resident satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support on-site maintenance teams across multiple communities.
  • Oversee daily work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, and emergency repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform hands-on maintenance tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, and unit turns as needed.
  • Manage vendor relationships, obtain bids, and oversee contract work for repairs and capital projects.
  • Monitor inventory and approve supply orders for maintenance operations.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to ensure curb appeal, safety, and functionality.
  • Train and mentor on-site maintenance staff to ensure consistency across all sites.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of maintenance personnel.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours emergency support.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3–5 years of progressive maintenance experience in multifamily housing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance repair, and general building systems.
  • Certifications: EPA Universal and CPO certifications preferred.
  • Other Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel between assigned properties.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, Monday–Friday, with flexibility for emergencies and on-call rotation.
  • Regular travel between assigned properties; moderate exposure to seasonal outdoor conditions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,160.00 - $62,500.00 per year
