Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional florist experience
• Knowledge of floral trends and advanced design principles across all genre of floral design to include funerals, wedding flowers and event designs
• Excellent organizational skills, must be able to manage time and details
• Exceptional customer service skills within a retail setting
• Artistic and creative
• Must be organized and maintain a clean workspace
• Work independently and as part of the design team

Job Description

*We are hiring an experienced floral designer in a part-time position (15-36 hours a week). The ideal candidates MUST have a minimum of 1 year of professional floral design experience. We will accept applications until we fill this position.

*Work hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Weekdays and 8:30 am to 4 pm Saturdays. Candidate must be available to work extended holiday hours, as needed.

Job Requirements

• Must be a self starter with good organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills, previous retail experience preferred including cash drawer handling and credit card processing
• Ability to recommend flowers and greenery for each arrangement based on the customer’s budget
• Answer telephones, take phone orders and complete work order with correct information
• Ability to understand what a customer is looking for, to explain options, and to ensure high-quality flowers and service
• Artistic ability to design and create on demand for in-store customers and to follow floral recipes, as required by online products offered
• Maintenance of inventory of ‘help-yourself’ floral coolers
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
• Must be able to work flexible work schedule, especially during high demand periods (holidays, weekends and special events as needed)
• Valid driver’s license
• Familiar with multi-line phones, fax machine and basic PC computer skills
• Maintenance of shop design area, shop storefront and walk-in cooler
• Basic pricing and merchandising of products for the storefront displays
• Inventory management of hard goods such as vases, ribbons, design elements, etc.
• Good people skills and ability to work independently and communicate clearly

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 36 per week
