Floral Designer

Job Overview
We are seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and passionate Floral Designer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating eye-catching floral arrangements for everyday occasions, high-profile events, and corporate clients.

Beyond your design talents, you will play a crucial role in maintaining shop aesthetics, managing fresh inventory, and providing exceptional service to our local community. The ideal candidate blends artistic vision with physical stamina and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute high-quality floral arrangements for various occasions (birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy, holidays, and weddings).
• Create custom-designed arrangements on demand based on specific customer requests and budget guidelines.
• Maintain a consistent style and quality that aligns with our shop’s unique brand aesthetic, while also staying current on modern floral trends and techniques.

Inventory & Shop Management

• Process incoming fresh flower shipments (unboxing, cutting, hydrating, and applying proper floral food/preservatives).
• Monitor inventory levels of fresh flowers, greens, and hard goods (vases, foam, ribbon, tools); report reorder needs to management.
• Ensure the display coolers and retail floor are clean, well-stocked, visually organized, and beautifully merchandised.
• Manage waste efficiently by rotating stock and minimizing shrinkage.

Customer Service & Sales

• Greet walk-in customers warmly and assist them in selecting ready-made arrangements or planning custom orders.
• Consult with clients in person, online, or over the phone to understand their vision for special events or sympathy tributes.
• Accurately operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process transactions, schedule deliveries, and log custom order details.

Experience

• Prior experience in floral design or a related field such as gardening or horticulture is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Experience in a creative, hands-on field is highly preferred. This could include visual arts, interior design, crafting, merchandising, gardening, photography, or cake decorating.
• A strong natural sense of color theory, texture, balance, and composition. (Applicants are encouraged to share photos of any creative work they’ve done—even non-floral!).
• Strong communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse customer needs
• Knowledge of retail operations including cashiering, retail math, and stock management enhances your effectiveness in this role
• Demonstrated organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for gardening, floral design, or landscape maintenance is highly valued to inspire innovative arrangements
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while delivering exceptional customer service in a retail setting
