Floral Designer & Plant Care Specialist

We are searching for a Florist & Plant Care Specialist in the Austin & surrounding areas. The person who will fill this position must be dependable, self-motivated, detail oriented and focused, and will be responsible for maintaining accounts assigned to their care. On a set schedule, the specialist designs and creates floral arrangements as well as maintains interior tropical foliage and blooming plants by using accepted horticultural techniques; training is provided.

Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

* Watering and fertilizing all plants as necessary

* Removing any damaged or unsightly foliage

* Keeping all plants cleaned, trimmed and oriented to proper light

* Keeping all plants free from disease and insects

* Removing debris from planters and maintaining planters in a neat and orderly manner

* Maintaining staging and top dressing for proper presentation

* Preventing damage to surrounding floors, walls and furniture from water and/or moisture

* Designing, creating and maintaining professional floral arrangements

You must have a reliable personal vehicle available each work day for transportation to their accounts. Vehicle liability insurance and a valid driver’s license are required to be in place.

Skills and Requirements:

You must be able to lift 15 - 20 lbs floral arrangements as well as full 2 gallon water buckets. You must be able to climb a ladder at times and have good dexterity in the use of both hands. You must be able to use scissors, pruners, hand saws, hoses and other small tools. You must be able to apply leaf cleaners and organic insecticides using hand-held pump sprayers. You must have a satisfactory safe driving record. You must be able to professionally communicate with clients and have a neat and clean appearance.

This work requires good vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, critical thinking and driving skills.

This route will cover Greater Austin based accounts.

Salary is competitive and based on experience. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Vehicle Maintenance and cell phone stipend provided. Health Insurance is provided.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
