The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Workers' Compensation Attorney to join our team in Maitland, FL. The ideal candidate is a skilled litigator with a strong work ethic, ready to manage a high-volume caseload for our employer and insurance carrier clients. This role is perfect for an attorney who values autonomy while thriving within a supportive team structure. A hybrid work schedule may be available after a successful initial onboarding period.

Key Responsibilities

• Defend employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation claims from case inception through resolution.
• Independently manage a high-volume caseload, ensuring compliance with all deadlines and litigation guidelines.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies in collaboration with partners and clients.
• Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Represent clients at depositions, mediations, and final hearings before Judges of Compensation Claims.
• Maintain regular, transparent, and proactive communication with clients, opposing counsel, and claims adjusters.
• Mentor and supervise legal assistants and paralegals within the workers' compensation department.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active member in good standing with The Florida Bar is required.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of direct experience handling Florida workers' compensation matters is preferred.
• Experience in litigation, negotiation, and case management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Technologically proficient, including experience with legal research tools (e.g., LexisNexis) and case management software.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
