Job Purpose

To oversee and manage the maintenance and operations of a facility or multiple facilities within an organization. The primary goal is to ensure that the facility is safe, wellmaintained, and operating efficiently to support the organization's activities. The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supervising a team of maintenance technicians, custodial staff, and other personnel involved in facility maintenance.


Education & Qualification:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Assets Management, Project Management or relevant. 2. FM related professional certifications is preferable. 3. Excellent knowledge & understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and responsibilities

Experience:

1. 3-5 years of experience working as an Facilities Engineer / Supervisor

2. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant FM Industry.

3. Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) practices and policies.

4. Experience of safe working practices, risk assessments, method statements, permitto-work systems, and water treatment management


Roles, Responsibilities, Duties

  • Facility Maintenance: The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for planning and executing maintenance activities to ensure that the facility's infrastructure, equipment, and systems are in optimal working condition. This includes overseeing repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Operational Efficiency: The Facilities Supervisor aims to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of facility operations. They analyze processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement measures to enhance productivity, reduce downtime, and minimize costs.
  • Staff Management: The Facilities Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of maintenance and custodial staff. They assign tasks, provide training, and ensure that all personnel have the necessary resources and support to perform their duties effectively.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensuring a safe and compliant working environment is crucial. The Facilities Supervisor implements and enforces safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to mitigate risks and maintain compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Facilities Supervisors often participate in budget planning and management. They track expenditures, seek cost-effective solutions, and make recommendations to optimize resource allocation and control expenses related to facility maintenance.
  • Vendor and Contractor Management: The Facilities Supervisor may liaise with external vendors and contractors for specialized services, repairs, or installations. They evaluate and select service providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor the quality and timeliness of their work.
  • Emergency Preparedness: In the event of emergencies such as power outages, natural disasters, or security incidents, the Facilities Supervisor plays a critical role in developing and implementing emergency response plans, ensuring proper evacuation procedures, and coordinating with relevant authorities.
