We’re seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Food Prep to join our kitchen crew. This position plays a key role in supporting daily operations by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring all food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate enjoys teamwork, stays organized under pressure, and takes pride in consistency and quality.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and portion ingredients and supplies for each shift according to menu needs, inventory levels, and sales trends.
  • Keep track of stock levels and promptly communicate any shortages or reordering needs to the kitchen leader.
  • Label all ingredients and packaging materials clearly with accurate preparation and expiration dates.
  • Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures at scheduled times to ensure food safety compliance.
  • Inspect kitchen tools and equipment regularly and report any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Follow the First In, First Out (FIFO) method for ingredient usage, and alert supervisors of any items nearing their use-by date.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked prep area throughout each shift.
  • Ensure all utensils, dishes, and serving items are clean, intact, and ready for service.
  • Support the shift leader with general kitchen duties and assist wherever needed.
  • Complete assigned cleaning checklists for daily, weekly, and deep-cleaning routines.
  • Accurately perform all opening and closing tasks for each shift.
  • Participate in regular inventory counts and help maintain precise inventory records.
  • Adhere strictly to all food handling, hygiene, and safety procedures.
  • Verify that food is always stored and served at the correct temperatures.
  • Ensure no order is sent out without the appropriate Kitchen Order Ticket (KOT) or docket.
  • Check that the kitchen printer is clean, stocked with paper, and in good working condition.
  • Use appropriate chopping boards and storage methods for different food types.
  • Collaborate closely with kitchen teammates to deliver efficient, smooth, and consistent service.

Experience:

  • Food Prep: 2 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • Essential Food Safety Training Certificate or EFST (Preferred)
