Food Runner

Mayfield is a restaurant in the historic downtown area of San Juan Capistrano. We are open for Brunch & Dinner from Tuesday to Sunday. We have been very fortunate to be named in the OC Register's Best Restaurants 2022, Orange Coast's Best New Restaurants, and the LA Times.

We are looking for a runner to join our team with availability for both weekday evening and weekend shifts. We want fun, enthusiastic people that love hospitality, care about quality, and are excited to deliver unparalleled service.

Runner Duties

• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests quickly and accurately
• Support servers by resetting tables and keeping the dining room clean and organized
• Ensure dishes are presented correctly and delivered with care
• Assist with restocking service stations and maintaining overall readiness for service
• Act as a liaison between the kitchen and floor staff to keep service seamless
• Anticipate guest needs and step in to provide assistance wherever needed

Base pay is $16.90 an hour plus an estimated $8 to $12 in tips an hour

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of a shift (up to 8 hours)
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs repeatedly throughout a shift
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach as needed
• Must be able to move safely through a fast-paced kitchen and dining room environment

Work Environment

• Frequent exposure to hot kitchen equipment, steam, and varying temperatures
• Fast-paced environment requiring sustained physical activity throughout the shift
• May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work upon hire (I-9 verification)
• Must be at least 18 years of age, or 16 to 17 with a valid work permit where applicable under California law

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
