Food Runner/Host

Since our first opening in 1992, in a corridor of predominantly Chinese businesses on San Francisco’s Clement Street, we’ve grown. We’ve evolved into a large family of restaurants, products, and a non-profit which helps communities near and far. We not only strive to provide great food and hospitality but also to provide an experience that will help our guests understand the culture and cuisine of Burma.

Our restaurant group is looking for a passionate individual who strives to provide the highest level of service and hospitality at our Burma Love location. We are hiring multiple FOH Team Members to join our service team, offering great opportunities for growth and advancement.

Roles/Responsibilities

• 1+ years of experience working in a fast-paced restaurant as a Runner, and/or Host/Hostesses.
• Ability to stay calm in high-stress situations.
• Place orders for customers through our POS platform via in-person, phone, delivery tablets.
• Answer phone calls and communicate with professionalism.
• Resolve customer and courier issues with 3rd party services.
• Support and work with FOH to provide excellent customer service.
• Organize and manage the flow of orders coming.
• Buss and clean tables efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Re-stock the front of house needs such as plates, silverware, misc. items.
• Stock food packing station with to-go boxes, bags, and containers.
• Assist the FOH staff with all job functions such as bussing, setting tables and silverware, responding to guest’s needs, and more.
• Occasionally check on customers to handle any impromptu requests or issues.
• Comply with health and safety codes.
• Follow all instructions from Expeditor regarding food drop-off.
• Report to and follow instructions of the Shift Lead.
• Able to multitask.
• Take out the trash, compost, and recycling.
• Clean bathrooms.

Minimum Qualifications

• Able to acquire a California Food Handler’s License (before or within 30 days of hiring)
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Must have exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
