Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Food Safety & Hygiene Officer to oversee and enforce food safety standards across multiple restaurant outlets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in hotel and restaurant operations and a thorough understanding of Qatar's food safety regulatory framework. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, protecting public health, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene across all units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regulatory Compliance – Ensure all restaurant units operate in full compliance with Qatar's food safety laws, including regulations set by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) and the Food Safety Department, staying current with any updates or amendments to local legislation.
  • Multi-Unit Inspections – Conduct regular scheduled and unannounced hygiene audits and inspections across all outlets, identifying risks, documenting findings, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly and effectively.
  • HACCP Implementation – Develop, implement, and continuously monitor Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans tailored to each restaurant unit's operations, ensuring all critical control points are consistently managed.
  • Staff Training & Awareness – Design and deliver food safety and hygiene training programs for all levels of kitchen and front-of-house staff, fostering a culture of food safety accountability across the organization.
  • Incident Management – Lead the investigation of any food safety incidents, complaints, or contamination events, coordinating with management and relevant authorities to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Supplier & Supply Chain Oversight – Monitor and evaluate food suppliers and delivery processes to ensure that all incoming products meet Qatar's food safety standards, including proper temperature control, labeling, and traceability.
  • Documentation & Reporting – Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, audits, training sessions, temperature logs, pest control reports, and regulatory communications, preparing periodic compliance reports for senior management.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Educational Background – A bachelor's degree in Food Science, Environmental Health, Hospitality Management, or a related field is required. A professional certification in food safety such as HACCP, ISO 22000, or a Level 3/4 Food Safety qualification (e.g., CIEH, RSPH, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
  • Regulatory Knowledge – Demonstrated knowledge of Qatar's food safety regulatory environment, including MoPH guidelines, Qatar Standard Specifications (QS), and GCC food safety frameworks, with prior experience interfacing with local health authorities and passing official inspections.
  • Industry Experience – A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in food safety, quality assurance, or operations within the hotel and restaurant sector, with proven exposure to multi-unit or multi-outlet environments preferably within Qatar or the wider GCC region.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From QAR4,500.00 per month
