Food Safety and Quality Assurance Specialist

Accountability Areas:

Food Safety Management System (FSMS)

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintaining of FSMS within the organization, ensuring that it aligns with the HACCP standards.

  • Provide guidance to properties in establishing and maintaining FSMS.

Food Safety & Hygiene Inspections & Audits

  • Perform routine inspections of food production facilities, event sites and food delivery facilities in accordance with the inspection plan approved by QA Manager.

  • Perform HACCP internal audits in accordance with the audit plan approved by QA Manager.

  • Conduct supplier approval audits and surveillance audits of vendors supplying food products.

  • Identify and report process gaps and opportunities for improvement through audit reports.

Training for Improvements

  • Provide training sessions on food safety and hygiene practices and HACCP system based on training plan.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to improve operational practices and reduce food contamination risks.

  • Maintain records of training attendance and training effectiveness evaluation.

  • Foster a culture of food safety among employees.

Food Safety Monitoring Systems

  • Maintain and verify wireless temperature monitoring system deployed at properties.

  • Perform environmental and personal hygiene monitoring using ATP machines.

Medical Screening

  • Verify that medical screenings of food handlers are carried out as per schedule, in coordination with Human Resources Department.

  • Verify that screening results are documented and that any health-related issues are addressed promptly in compliance with local health regulations and QA requirements.

Incident Investigation

  • Investigate food safety complaints and feedback to establish root causes.

  • Incident investigation report for Head of Department/ Manager review.

  • Communicate with food suppliers to ensure traceability of products when a recall / withdrawal notice is issued.

  • Oversee the food recall process in case of food contamination or health concerns related to specific products.

HACCP Documentation

  • Facilitate and verify the HACCP documentation properties maintain in property folders / digital platforms.

  • Maintain accurate records of FSQA monitoring, verification activities and testing activities.

Quality Assurance Benchmarks

  • Monitor the performance of assigned properties against established quality assurance benchmarks.

  • Coordinate with property HACCP team leaders on Quality Assurance trend reports and performance reports.

  • Corrective & Preventive Actions: Review and ensure that properties’ corrective action plans are effective. Support properties with root cause analysis when required.

Health & Safety/General

  • Perform all activities in compliance with health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Direct Manager.
