Food Safety Officer

As a Food Safety Officer, you will be responsible for overseeing and enforcing food safety and hygiene standards across various food establishments. Your role involves conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with regulations, investigating complaints, and educating stakeholders on best practices to maintain food safety and public health.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection and Compliance:

  • Conduct regular inspections of food establishments (e.g., restaurants, hotels, catering facilities, food processing plants) to assess compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
  • Evaluate food handling practices, sanitation procedures, storage conditions, and pest control measures.
  • Identify and document violations of food safety standards and recommend corrective actions to ensure compliance.

Enforcement of Regulations:

  • Enforce food safety laws and regulations by issuing warnings, citations, fines, or closures to non-compliant establishments.
  • Monitor adherence to permits, licenses, and certifications related to food handling and safety.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and legal authorities as needed for enforcement actions

Investigation and Resolution:

  • Investigate complaints and reports of foodborne illnesses or contamination incidents.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and gather evidence to determine the source of issues.
  • Implement measures to mitigate risks, prevent recurrence, and protect public health.

Education and Training

  • Provide guidance, training, and workshops to food handlers, managers, and staff on proper food safety practices, hygiene standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Raise awareness among stakeholders about food safety risks and best practices through educational campaigns and materials.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, investigations, violations, and enforcement actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and internal use.
  • Compile statistical data and trends to assess compliance levels and identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with internal teams, government agencies, health departments, and industry stakeholders to promote food safety initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with food establishment owners, managers, and employees regarding compliance issues, corrective actions, and regulatory updates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Environmental Health, Public Health, or a related field.
  • Certification in food safety (e.g., Certified Professional Food Manager, HACCP) is advantageous.
  • 2 years of UAE experience as Food safety officer.
  • Preferred for Male Candidates only.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal food safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to make decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in food inspection, regulatory compliance, public health, or a related field is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
